Taiwanese blockchain cybersecurity firm CYBAVO has been awarded first place in SelectUSA Investment Summit’s Cybersecurity pitching session, a U.S. government program led by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The 2021 Investment Summit was held virtually from June 7th to 11th, and featured esteemed guests including U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, Microsoft Corporation CEO Satya Nadella, as well as hundreds of prominent industry and government leaders who shared their insights on the latest business trends and investment policies. With over 100 booths, the online exhibition hall provided an opportunity for businesses in the U.S. and startups around the world to showcase their products and services.
The highlight of the event was the pitch sessions by startups in front of a panel of venture capitalists and corporate investors to introduce their products. This year’s pitch sessions attracted over 200 startups worldwide, and after review by the organizers, 110 startups from 46 countries were approved to move forward to the next round. After a week of careful consideration by the judges, CYBAVO was awarded first place for the Cybersecurity category, and will receive a series of legal consultation opportunities from INBLF, sponsored by the organizers.
It is worth noting that this year’s Cybersecurity pitch session’s first and second runners-up were Taiwan’s CyCraft Technology and Israel’s Imvision, respectively. With Taiwanese companies taking the top two spots and defeating Israel, a nation well known for its cybersecurity skill and ability, it is proof that Taiwan’s capability and potential in cybersecurity is not to be underestimated.
